BlueWave Security provides end-to-end, IP-based physical access control solutions that deliver BOTH traditional electronic access control (EAC) and Wi-Fi-enabled, stand-alone battery-operated locksets in one integrated package. Each door in a BlueWave system connects to the IP network using either the Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) or Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) standards. The BlueView Professional application software can manage a single door, or scale to large enterprise deployments with multiple administrators, hundreds of doors and thousands of users in multiple locations. STAND-ALONE BATTERY OPERATED LOCKS - Advantages - Easy to install and typically less expensive than panel-based systems.
- Disadvantages - The total cost of ownership dramatically increases as more and more locks are deployed. No real-time audit trail or central management: adding or deleting a user must be done physically at each door.
PANEL-BASED SYSTEMS - Advantages - Panel-based systems provide great flexibility in the choice of credential readers and locking mechanisms. In some cases they provide real-time audit information.
- Disadvantages - Expensive to install. Uses single-purpose, proprietary networks. Administrators must trust a single vendor to ensure the integrity and security of the solution. Users get locked into proprietary network management tools and door hardware.
THE BLUEWAVE ADVANTAGE - NetGen IP Door Controllers – All of the features of panel-based systems without the use of panels or proprietary networks.
- Wi-Fi-Enabled, Stand-Alone Locks - Central management over the IP network at a substantially reduced cost.
